BMW’s successor to the critically acclaimed 1M, the M2, is what many consider to be the modern incarnation of the legendary 2002 Turbo of the 1970s. Its 3.0-litre, turbocharged straight-six engine produces 365bhp and 342lb ft of torque, launching the beefed-up 2 Series to 62mph in around 4.3 seconds. Prices start at £44,080 for a six-speed manual, with a seven-speed DCT model available for an extra £2,500. You’ll need to be quick to get one, though, as BMW are only expected to bring 1,900 M2s to the UK.
